The early 90’s were a magical time, when rock music was at a height of relevance & quality that has not been approached since. One of the high water marks of that era is the one & only release by Temple Of The Dog, a supergroup composed of Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell & Matt Cameron alongside Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament & Mike McCready of Pearl Jam.
Recently, the grunge supergroup performed a series of shows in Philadelphia, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle. But now In an interview with Den of Geek, Chris Cornell has cock-teased us all with the hope of new Temple Of The Dog.
“It was really an amazing experience so I think we’re all motivated to do something again,” Cornell explained. “The only obstacle really is the same one that’s always been there, which is that everybody’s always busy. So it literally has to be planned ahead by two years and that’s a hard thing to do. But it’s something that we definitely want to do.”
Here’s to hoping that us GenXers get to strap on our old ratty flannel (that we grossly overpaid for) once more & bask in the greatness of these grunge icons. For those of you who were just glimmers in your fathers stoned red eyes then, do yourself a favor & get their album.
